SIS International Development Cooperation implements projects in developing countries, mainly funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Sida, and the European Union.
The aim is to strengthen the capacity of National Standard Bodies (NSB) to develop national and regional standards, involve developing countries in international ISO standard setting and increase the involvement of private/public sector stakeholders in the standardization process. A vital component is also to increase the use of standards within organizations, government agencies and companies.
Standards in developing countries contribute to economic, social and environmental development. Numerous standards correspond directly to each of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs.
SIS is currently working in Namibia.
On ISO's website you can learn more about standards and SDGs >>
