The evaluation covers the behaviour of cladding systems upon exposure to flames bursting through an external wall opening after a flashover in an adjacent room after a fire has fully developed. Fire exposure on the rear surface (when the fire burns through the separating wall) is excluded. Additional investigations may be required for other fire scenarios. The results of this test form the basis for assessing the flame resistance of cladding systems, including any structural fire protection measures that may be necessary, in conjunction with the evaluation of the construction materials used and the cladding system in accordance with DIN 4102-1 or DIN EN 13501-1. The aim of the test is to establish the contribution of the cladding to the spread of fire over the façade. The complete system, including any fire protection measures, is tested and assessed.
