Scope
This standard stipulates a method for determining residual acrylonitrile in acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer (AS) and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (ABS) by headspace gas chromatography (HP-GC). This standard is applicable to the determination of residual acrylonitrile monomer in acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene resin and their products. This standard is also applicable to the determination of residual acrylonitrile monomer in rubber-modified acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene resins and their products. Determination limit of this method: the limit of Nitrogen - Phosphorus determination (NPD) is 0,5 mg/kg and the limit of hydrogen flame determination (FID) is 2,0 mg/kg.
