This standard specifies forest and forest management information which can be exchanged. This standard specifies the following information: — results from observations of features in stands, parts of stands, sites, areas of land and individual trees — description of when, where, how and with what results inventory of the forest took place — description of when and where specific forestry measures are planned to take place or have taken place. This standard includes type of observation which relate primarily to the forest stand and standing trees. However, most types of observation are applicable to a timber harvest. This standard specifies the following aspects of the information: — a description of the implications of the various elements of the information — a class diagram describing the structure of the information — conditions defining when information is mandatory — rules on when and how a value domain is to be adapted — rules on XML coding of the information — rules on the formulation of an XML schema for data validation — specification of what needs to be agreed in respect of data exchange, in addition to this standard. This standard does not include: — requirements indicating which observations are to be made in a particular context, or — XML schema — communications protocol for data exchange.
