This standard has been drawn up to serve as a harmonised standard which represents one means of achieving conformity with the fundamental safety requirements of the EC Machinery Directive and associated EFTA Regulations. The extent to which hazards are covered is indicated in the scope of this standard. In addition, machinery should comply as appropriate with EN 292 for hazards which are not covered by this standard.
